

How did you get into the event planning business?
I get asked this all the time. Perhaps the best answer is by accident. After many years in the hospitality industry and traveling as an organizational development consultant, my husband and I began a family. I quickly learned that traveling everyday of the week when you have small children was not for me. I missed being at home. So that’s what I did. I became a stay at home mom. People in my community knew my work background and began calling on me to help them with an array of volunteer and paying jobs. Soon those people began recommending me to do weddings and I LOVED IT! I can honestly say I didn’t plan on being a wedding planner, but it is the perfect job for me. I get to use my hospitality background, business knowledge, my extensive skills as a project manager and of course my love to entertaining, food, decorating and music. I love the people in this industry. I think I’m pretty darn lucky to have found an outlet for all the things I love.
